Reason # 59: Water for Fish and Wildlife

After the Bush administration authorized water diversions to irrigators in the Upper Klamath Basin in the summer of 2002, resulting low river levels and high water temperatures killed tens of thousands of migrating chinook and coho salmon in the Klamath River. The administration subsequently denied that water diversions led to the die-off.
