Reason # 64: Update CAFE Standards

Making our cars, pickup trucks, and SUVs go farther on a gallon of gas is the biggest single step we can take to curb global warming. The technology exists today to raise Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards to 40 miles per gallon. This would save more oil than we currently import from the entire Persian Gulf or could ever take out of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, combined.
