A main focus of the Bush energy plan, coal is the country's leading energy source, accounting for roughly half of America's current power generation. Coal is also our dirtiest source of energy -- the leading producer of industrial air pollution in America, creating massive amounts of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and mercury pollution. Shouldn't we be looking for alternatives?
