Keep Elkmont Natural! Protect the Great Smoky Mountains from further development In the 1980's, the Park Service and other stakeholders agreed to return the Elkmont area from cabins back to its natural state. Political decisions are now threatening to commercialize Elkmont, increasing the destructive footprint on this sensitive area and the Little River running through it.
