The “walks through history” tour series features historic sites or districts around arkansas each month. The tours are organized by the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage. All tours are held on Saturdays and begin at 11:00 a.m., unless otherwise indicated, and last between one and two hours. An AHPP historian delivers a lecture about the properties while leading guests on a walking tour. All tours are free and open to the public.

Sep 12 - Titan II ICBM Launch Complex 374-7 North Of Damascus - Around 100 people showed up to view the site of the launch complex, where a missile exploded within the launch silo on September 19, 1980, resulting in the most highly publicized disaster of the Titan II program. The Titan II Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Program was a Cold War weapons system with 54 launch complexes in three states, 18 of which were in Arkansas. Titan II missiles could be launched from within their silos in less than a minute and had a range of 6000 miles. A presentation included photos of equipment in the former complex and a talk by someone who had previously work at the complex.
