Our Active Committees Need Your Help!

We have committees that focus on many issues: conservation, energy efficiency, legislation, political activism, informative environmental programs and outdoor hikes and activities. Each member of our 9 person Executive Committee is assigned to one or more of these committees. We need the support of Mid-Hudson members to work with us to be as effective as possible to fulfill our promise as Sierra members to preserve, protect and explore our wonderful environment in the Hudson Valley.

Volunteers are the backbone of the Sierra Club

The Sierra Club is a grassroots, volunteer-directed organization. With only two staff members to serve over 30,000 members in New York State, the vast majority of Sierra's work is done by small groups of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers are needed for many aspects of our operations, from outings to programs to conservation issues to political action. How effective we are as a Club depends entirely on how involved our members are in taking action on the local, state, and national level. Remember — It's YOUR Sierra Club!

Please contact our volunteer coordinator, Sarah Kennedy for more information. You can contact Sarah by sending an email to our Group's email address: midhudsonsierra@twc.com. Please specify that you wish to contact Sarah in your email and it will be forwarded to her.

Please consider joining us and enjoy the benefits of knowing you are making a difference for the environment and the planet along with your fellow Sierrans.
