Sept. 26, 2015—Congers, NY

The morning started in Congers, NY at Dr. Davis Farm with apple picking. The trees were full of apples giving us free range to pick our favorites. We took our time filling the bags making sure to get the tastiest apples possible. For many of the students this was their first experience apple picking and they enjoyed the new experience!

Once the apples were sorted giving each of us enough apples to last a month, we headed off for a hike. We headed back towards the Hudson to Hook Mountain ready for some amazing views. At the first peak we stopped for lunch and took in the spectacular view down the river spotting Manhattan in the distance.

After getting a lesson from the bird watching group that we encountered on the peak, we took off for the second peak. The views on the way up were amazing even with tired legs it was worth the effort. At the top we decided to head back ending the afternoon. A great afternoon full of laughs and beautiful views ended with a quiet drive back to the city with everyone tired and happy.
