Fun and Foliage on Ellis High School Orienteering Trip!

Oct. 24, 2015—Mount Kisco, NY

Ellis High School made it out to the Hudson Valley this past weekend for a day of hiking and fun amidst a beautiful backdrop of explosive fall color.

They learned map skills, and also learned to follow their instincts, during an orienteering event at the Westmoreland Sanctuary. Orienteering, for anyone not familiar, is a fast paced game where you rely on a (not so clear) map and a compass to navigate from point to point on an unfamiliar course - in this case a trail through the woods. The teams managed to complete the courses in under an hour, and have a lot of fun along the way!!
