The John Muir Trust of Scotland, the country of John Muirs birth, congratulates you on your historic initiative to safeguard vital remnants of Giant Sequoias by declaring the Sequoia National Monument.

All peoples of Scotland and the United Kingdom who care deeply about our natural world and who have been inspired by the vision of John Muir fully support you in your courageous actions and are greatly inspired by you and what you are trying to achieve.

The Giant Sequoia are truly a marvel of our world and must be protected for their own sake and for the benefit of future generations. You have the unique opportunity to leave the Giant Sequoia protected for all time as a legacy of your Presidency. People in the United States, the United Kingdom and across the world will be eternally grateful to you.
