Job Title: Inner City Outings (ICO) Field Organizer
Department:Outings/San Francisco
Reports To: Local and Inner City Outings Manager
Context:
Works with ICO staff to develop and implement an organizing and training program to strengthen ICO Groups and increase their capacity to serve more participants.
Scope: The ICO Field Organizer is responsible for working extensively with staff, outings committees, and outings leaders to identify areas of ICO Group development including Group management, agency relations, leader recruitment and training, and fundraising and for providing support and practical assistance to ICO leaders in the field. The ICO Field Organizer develops organizing, support, training strategies and programs to address the Group needs, and then implements those programs in the field.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Community Relations, Outdoor Recreation, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- One year experience in training, education, or community organizing/volunteer recruitment.
- Ability to work independently and apply judgment in the interpretation and application of outings policies.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, including public speaking and teaching ability.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with volunteers, staff, and the public.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
