Campuses Beyond Coal

Coal: Too Dirty, Even for College

Too Dirty For College? As part of its Campuses Beyond Coal Campaign, the Sierra Club has launched a new advertising effort to help kick coal off campuses. Centered on a series of three videos the campaign will use print and online advertising to highlight that some things are just too dirty, even for college.   Though college life allows for leniency in the socially acceptable, coal still crosses the line.

The ad campaign targets schools in 11 states which currently rely on coal power. Watch the first video here and watch this space for more videos in the weeks to come.

Campuses Beyond Coal

Coal plant action at Mizzou

Campuses Beyond Coal is a joint effort between the Sierra Student Coalition and the Sierra Club to move our nation's universities beyond coal to 100% clean energy solutions.  We aim to  shut down or replace campus-based coal plants and end our schools' dependence on the coal-generated electricity they purchase.

Young people are organizing coast-to-coast and already making their campuses model institutions with efficiency, renewable energy and more.  Now it's time to finish the job and demand an end to dirty, dangerous and outdated coal.
