Building Environmental Community: Bismarck, North Dakota

Mountaineer's Bend at dusk.

We hope you'll join the Sierra Club in its project to build a strong environmental community in Bismarck. We need your voice in our efforts to protect our spectacular Badlands from overgrazing and rampant oil development. By working together we can make a difference. You can start by taking part in our Summer Outings Program. For more information contact Wayde: 701-530-9288 wayde.schafer@sierraclub.org

CANOE THE MISSOURI RIVER

Garrison Reach

On Saturday July 16 and Sunday July 17, 2005 we will canoe the Missouri River from Garrison Dam to Washburn, ND, stopping overnight to camp in the Stanton City Park. Last year we saw 14 bald eagles, including a nesting pair with two eaglets. Canoe rentals are available and Saturday’s evening meal will be provided.
FOR MORE INFORNMATION CALL Jessica: 701-530-9288, jessica.gilbertson@sierraclub.org.

We are also planning a clean-up day at John E. Williams Nature Preserve and a tree planting for National Public Lands Day later this summer. Watch for details to be posted later.

Sign me up to help protect our community's environment and public health. Together we can put in place solutions that work for our families and our future.
