July 5, Tuesday: Event: Phone Bank for Wildlife Bridges. July 7, Thursday: Event: Tailgate Picnic for Wildlife. Join us for food and music while supporting wildlife! South Lake Union Park, 860 Terry Ave N in Seattle. 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Afterwards we’ll migrate over to the WSDOT Hearing to urge for the highest level of connectivity for wildlife along the I-90 corridor. Sierra Club will have a table at Washington Trails Association’s TrailsFest at Rattlesnake Lake from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We will provide information to the public about our Building Environmental Communities Campaign and ways we are working to protect the Snoqualmie River Valley. July 23, Saturday: Outing: Checkerboard Outings Day 2005. Annual hike and National Forest coordination day in the Checkerboard lands. Many hikes of different lengths and elevation gains will be featured for different abilities. Visit wet meadows, old-growth forest, creeks and river trails, and high ridges to see areas the Cascade Chapter has protected in conservation status so far, and the lands ahead to be saved. August 13, Saturday: Event: Tabling at “Alpine Days” Festival. Sierra Club will have a table at North Bend’s “Alpine Days” Festival to provide information to the public about our Building Environmental Communities Campaign and ways we are working to protect the Snoqualmie River Valley. August 24, Wednesday: Event: Ice Cream Social. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Join Sierra Club for an ice scream social to meet other Greater Eastside Group families and to learn more about our Building Environmental Communities Campaign. Baskin-Robbins, 2900 78th Ave SE on Mercer Island. 6:30 p.m. Once e get our ice cream we’ll stroll down to the Mercerdale Park, just a block away. Feel free to bring lawn chairs or a blanket.
