Some critics have called the film's claims that sea levels could rise 20 feet somewhat sensationalistic, although most agree that this is not enough to save the film from being unwatchably factual.
Tim, thanks for that link. You have to wonder whether that wasn't precisely the review the Onion writers patterned theirs after. Certainly, it only needed the slightest nudge to cross the line into self-parody.
In addition to the unintentional hilarity, the NYPost review betrays a fundamental ignorance on the topic of climate change. For example, the reviewer writes:
Global warming hasn't noticed that we got the lead out of our gasoline or that Stage One smog days in Los Angeles fell from 121 in 1977 to zero in 2004. All regulations and taxes to date have done nothing. Does this hint that pollution isn't the cause?
Uhhhh.... no, it doesn't, because nobody who knows a thing about the issue would ever suggest that lead or smog-forming air pollutants had anything to do with global warming.
Hey Kyle: It's greenhouse gases, not smog, we're talking about. Two different issues. You sure you even watched the film?
I sent Mr. Smith an email with the link to the USA Today series on global warming and told him he should check his facts. Do you think he reads his own e-mail?
Folks will be interested to learn that the review has been edited and runs with the following correction: "an earlier version of this review incorrectly linked lead and smog to global warming."
Great. Now, if they would just fix the rest of it.

that's pure genius, that is.
I think this review is much better.
One whole star? Are you not allowed to go to zero at the Post?

Addy, i'm sure he reads it. But I doubt he'll respond. Let us know if he does.
