In Federal Way, Washington the school board put the clampdown on any further screenings of Al Gore's documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, after a parent complained of indoctrination.
Asked by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer what she thought about the controversy, Jefferson High senior Kenna Patrick took the view that, "Watching a movie doesn't mean that you have to believe everything you see in it." To which I can hear Paula Poundstone or Roy Blount adding: No. It's not like it's the Bible, after all.
"Condoms don't belong in school, and neither does Al Gore. He's not a schoolteacher," said Frosty Hardison, a parent of seven who also said that he believes the Earth is 14,000 years old. "The information that's being presented is a very cockeyed view of what the truth is. ... The Bible says that in the end times everything will burn up, but that perspective isn't in the DVD."What do you bet that makes it to this week's Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me? No way they'll be able to resist the name Frosty -- he of the seven kids.

Poking useless fun at conservative christians is weak journalism. There are plenty of Christians who are environmentalists, accept the earth is 4.5 billion years old, try to preserve whats left of this planet and don't vote republican. It dissappoints me that you spend time on this sort of sophomoric journalism.
