reminds me of all those film strips we watched as kids in the school auditorium. of course, back then it was the bomb we were worried about, not melting ice caps

The idea of global warming was first posed sometime in the 1940s. It's surprising that the ideas and data that by then supported it, were out to scientists in the 70s-- but it's only been since 2005/2006 that the general public has heard the phrase and many have some understanding.

Hmmm... why is that?

I remember seeing this in school! Guess that kinda dates me, doesn't it? Another in this great Capra series was "Hemo the Magnificent." Highly recommended.

I thought the scientist who first recognised the damage that too much CO2 cd do in the atmosphere did so in 1896 : yes, that long ago...
