On the
Scientific American blog, Christopher Mims highlights the finding in a recent Yale poll that, "Fully 83 percent of Americans now say
global warming is a "serious" problem, up from 70 percent in 2004," and that 63 percent of Americans agree that the United States "is in as much danger from environmental hazards, such as air pollution and global warming, as it is from terrorists." It's worth noting that, in the same poll, 58 percent of respondents agreed with the statement, "As the Bible says, the world literally was created in six days."
For real.
I'm not sure what to make of that, but it reminded me of a poll I read a couple years back that found that 75 percent of Americans couldn't name the vice president. It so happens, the same number believed in the literal existence of the Devil.
Coincidence?

Cheney as Ol' Scratch? Ya, I could see that.
Also, it's worth noting that random surveys of large swaths of the population generally turn up 40-50% of respondents who are young earth creationists... which means that this study isn't too far out of line with most of them. (In other words, all that really demonstrates is that the survey folks did a good job of randomly selecting respondents.)

This is comment hardly appropriate for an organization that is concerned about safe-guarding the environment. Your rant against Christians (whether Conservative or Liberal all Chrisitans are part of a single faith) suggests people of this particular faith do not have either any concern for the environment, or are too uninformed to realize how fragile the environment really is.
