Stupid Grups

This Greenpeace ad seems to be making the rounds today, and most of the reaction appears to be negative. Small wonder, what with the veiled threat from some punk kid in a Unabomber hoodie. Mostly, it reminded me of a certain Star Trek episode. That and Lord of the Flies. But I'm curious what Compass readers think of it. Anyone like it? And if so, why?

One thing about greenpeace: they're not afraid to get in your face. But does it serve their purpose? Or is it more alienating than anythi8ng??
boo hiss
terrible advert
Bad commercial. It sailed right by honest and in your face, and ended up squarely in the terrorist warning video arena.
I wonder how long before Fox News and the like are playing it as proof that environmentalists hate America and are really terrorists?
dewayne is right. this will feed right into the paranoid eco-terrorist fantasy of the extreme right. way to go, Greenpeace.
all this in addition to the fact that it's just boring. i had to resist stopping it several times because it seemed like a waste of my time.
That's pathetic... alienating the general public I would guess.
Oh my gosh, I hate to say it but that was almost funny. The kid looked like he had gas. I doubt this will win converts to the green side, however.
Dewayne hit it on the head, how long until this is used by some to make "greens" look like anti-social whack-jobs.
Is this alienating? Probably.
Does it smack of terrorism? No. "Lines drawn in the sand" sound more like partisan politics.
Will FOX media jump all over this. Yes. Like they jump all over EVERYTHING ELSE that opposes the right.
Has anything else really worked to push change? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Pretty soon, people who think they can continue to spout off scientific evidence (that goes largely ignored), and WAIT for things to change, need to realize that those who SHOULD be listening, aren't.
If you're not in their faces, you get ignored. By the time those who do care can make a difference, it may be too late. You want change? You want change to happen sooner than later? I hate to say it, but this IS how it's going to happen.
Otherwise we just wait until those who don't care die off and then we begin to TRY and make major repairs.
