The workings of the Bush administration's Energy Task Force, which operated under the leadership of Vice President Dick Cheney, have been kept secret from the American public for the past three years. In the meantime, the task force's back-room meetings with energy industry officials have resulted in the industry-friendly, polluting energy bill that is currently before Congress. This case was brought to court because the Sierra Club believes that Americans have a right to know who wrote their energy policy before it becomes law.
