Georgia Pollution Plan Not Good Enough

The residents of greater Atlanta may be breathing easier in the near future, thanks to important developments in the legal campaign to force the cleanup of Atlanta’s air. In response to a Club lawsuit, the EPA voluntarily agreed to take the region’s deficient clean-air plan back to the drawing board and come up with a plan that meets the law’s requirements. On another front, a new Club lawsuit will force the EPA to require improvements in five individually issued clean-air permits, which should result in more effective enforcement of the Clean Air Act.
