The devastating BP Deepwater Horizon spill in the Gulf Coast highlighted the urgent need to move our country beyond oil. The Environmental Law Program is supporting the Club's Beyond Oil project on numerous fronts: fighting destructive offshore drilling and supporting Gulf communities in the restoration process; advocating for massive oil use reductions in federal fuel efficiency rulemaking; blocking the expansion of ill conceived tar sands, oil shale and liquid coal proposals; and defending and promoting low carbon fuels policies.
