Padre Island National Seashore off the Texas coast is the world's longest undeveloped barrier island, a home to several endangered species, and a popular destination for millions of beach lovers. Unfortunately, BNP Petroleum is threatening this paradise with an aggressive gas-drilling operation. Sierra Club is hosting a benefit in Austin to fight the drilling on Padre Island. The benefit features some of the best singer/songwriters in Texas and abroad.

So come out and join us JUNE 8th for a night of music and community. Together we can protect Padre Island National Seashore for future generations!

Featuring the talented...

Austin Music Awards Hall of Famer, Dale Watson is pure roots-based country, the real deal, with a deep, rich voice and freshly minted original songs that sound like country standards the moment you hear them - genuine honky-tonk music at its finest. www.dalewatson.com
Michael Fracasso is "one of America's songwriting geniuses" with a tenor voice that's been compared to both Phill and Don Everly, and Gen Pitney, with maybe a little Roy Orbison thrown in for good measure. He'll kick off this night of Songs to Save the Seashore with a solo acoustical set. www.michaelfracasso.com
Grammy nominee Eliza Gilkyson has a voice that the New York Times describes as "lush and passionate." BBC Radio praises her "killer melodies and lyrics that hit the heart and refuse to leave." We call her "perfect." www.elizagilkyson.com
Sweet-voiced Sarah Lee Guthrie (daughter of Arlo and granddaughter of Woody) and her husband, Carolina singer songwriter Johny Irion, perform duets of their original songs that are often compared to Carter and Cash or Emmy Lou and Gram. www.sarahleeandjohnny.com
Carolyn Wonderland does it all. She uses her amazing voice to croon, scat, wail, and trill. Her songs do it all as well - from blues to rock to country to soul to surf. She has a kickin' band, and, oh yea, she can play the holy hell out of that guitar, too! www.carolynwonderland.com
If you missed Ruthie Foster on Austin City Limits or on the festival circuit, now's your change. Her POWERFUL voice and gospel/soul/blues gumbo repertoire shine in any venue, but this time she'll sit in with Carolyn Wonderland and band. These two women on the same stage? They'll tear the roof off. http://ruthiefoster.com
