Take CLIMATE ACTION with Inflation Reduction Act

On August 16, 2022, Congress and the President authorized funding for the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) that should promote a more stable climate future for all of us.

What does it mean?
Federal provided financial incentives for American citizens, non-profits, and businesses to invest in building as well as appliance improvements that will help reduce our hydrocarbon fuel usage.

There’s money available for individuals in the form of point of purchase discounts and tax refunds for both homeowners as well as renter incentives.

Lower income earners get the best benefits but, with solar installations, everybody gets 30% off!

What to do now?

Accessing these benefits can be a one-time benefit if you just want funds to offset the cost of a new hot water heater but the Inflation Reduction Act is really designed for planners.

If it endures the decade it is designed to last, we can replace most of our carbon emitting appliances as they age out while we budget for bigger projects like electric panel upgrades, heating and air conditioning system replacements, home insulation, energy efficient windows, and solar installs.

It may be that projects could be spread over several tax years for the best tax benefit.
