Western Public Lands Grazing: The True Costs
A slideshow of grazing issues and impacts
NEW! Fully narrated and ready to download slideshow available.
This file is approximately 30 MB and the show lasts 16 minutes. Download it here to learn more about public lands grazing and to share with your Sierra Club chapter.
In 2006, the Grazing Committee* completed a slide show of grazing issues and impacts that can be viewed or downloaded using the links below. You can also request that the slideshow be presented in person to your group by contacting a nearby Grazing Committee member.
Our intent is to give Club members and the public a visual tour of some of the impacts and issues associated with livestock grazing on public lands. The issues covered include water pollution, fish declines, habitat degradation, fences, exotic diseases, exotic plant invasions, wildlife eradication, impacts to recreation, impacts to taxpayers, and a discussion of some possible solutions to the conflicts over public land grazing.
