Blue Green Alliance
The Blue Green Alliance is a national partnership between labor unions and environmental organizations to expand the green economy and the rights of workers. The Blue Green Alliance was founded by The United Steelworkers and the Sierra Club in 2006. The Alliance has since grown to include the Communications Workers of America (CWA), the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and the Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA). The Blue Green Alliance works to educate the public about solutions to reduce global warming, restore the rights of workers to form unions, curb the use of toxic chemicals and achieve enforceable labor, environmental and human rights standards in trade.
