The Western Ghats of India

Ullam Pari

Ullam Pari
The Palni Hills of Tamil Nadu, in the southern Western Ghats, lie at 7,000 ft (2000 meters). Crowned by wild grasses and fire-resistant Rhododendron trees, these remote and steep slopes are one of the last surviving habitats of the endangered Nilgiri tahr (Hermitragus hylocrius) in the Palni Hills.
