Evergreen Forest

Evergreen forest
This patch of evergreen forest lies at about 3300ft (1000m) in the Palni Hills of Tamil Nadu. Wet and warm forests like this one host endemic primates such as the Nilgiri langur (Trachypithecus johnii) and lion-tailed macaque (Macaca silenus), as well as king cobras (Opiophagus hannah), and rare birds such as the Malabar gray hornbill (Ocyceros griseus).
