This medallion, produced in both bronze and silver colors, was produced to recognize the Yosemite National Centennial in 1990 by the Yosemite National Park and Curry Company. The obverse side includes a bas-relief portrait of Muir, including a background image of Muir standing by Sequoia trees, with a legend that reads, "John Muir Conservationist 1838 - 1914." The reverse side includes an image of a deer silhouetted against an outline of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, with a legend that reads, "Yosemite National Park Centennial 1890 - 1990." The silver edition of one troy ounce .999 pure silver was limited to 5000.
