Carla Cloer

• Educator and volunteer conservationist campaigning for protection of Giant Sequoias.

• Chair of the Sierra Club Sequoia Task Force.

• Cloer was awarded the Sierra Club's "John Muir Award" in 2001 for her long career working to protect Giant Sequoias, culminating in the 2000 proclamation of the Giant Sequoia National Monument.

• Cloer was one of four modern environmentalists profiled in the recent National Geographic Society book, John Muir: Nature's Visionary by Gretel Ehrlich.
