Sprawl & Transportation:
Restrict Toll Money Use
Our Position: oppose
Bill Number: H.AMDT.27 to HR3
Sponsor: Mark Kennedy (R-MN)
Legislative Session: 2005
Offered by Mark Kennedy, this amendment to the transportation bill would severely limit the use and role of tolls for funding transportation choices by preventing toll money from being used to build public transportation or to be used for variable pricing. It also would only allow toll money to be used to build new road lanes.
Status
The amendment failed by a vote of 155-265 on March 9, 2005.
