Global Warming Pollution Reduction Act

This legislation would reduce economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions by 80% below 1990 levels by 2050 in order to stabilize global temperatures and contain carbon dioxide atmospheric concentrations. This bill regulates greenhouse gas emissions from power plants and transportation, and also establishes a federal renewable energy standard of 20% by 2020.
Status
On January 16, 2007 this bill was referred to the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.
