As they crossed north-central Idaho and northeastern Oregon, the Corps of Discovery encountered the Nimi'ipuu, or Nez Perce, people. These photos of Nez Perce date from the early part of the 20th century. They are part of the collection of the Nez Perce National Historical Park.
