Sierra Club Rallies for the Paris Accord

by Emily Norton, Chapter Director

Emily Norton, MASC Chapter DirectorI was honored to be a speaker at a rally last Tuesday in support of a bill requiring Mass to comply with the Paris accord, filed by newly elected State Rep. Dylan Fernandes from Falmouth, and newly elected State Senator Julian Cyr from Cape Cod. Also speaking at the rally was newly elected State Rep Solomon Goldstein Rose from Amherst. Not a coincidence that these new electeds are all super young (early to mid 20s) and passionate about the need to address climate change.

It was also incredibly gratifying to have so many State Reps and Senators in attendance, even though it was over 90 degrees (those Sierra Club fans sure came in handy!)

So special shoutout to Newton's own Ruth B. Balser, Cynthia S Creem, Rep. Brian Murray, Lori Ehrlich, Rep. Natalie Higgins, Denise Provost, Rep. Jack Lewis, Rep. Byron Rushing, and Mike Connolly. Climate heroes all!
