Explore, enjoy and protect the planet

2008 Action Plan

We have an enormous opportunity in 2008 – to prevent our public lands from being treated as a giveaway to special interests, to protect our wildlife, air and water and to get serious about solving global warming.

With your support, the Sierra Club will …

• Prevent the Bush Administration and its allies from further weakening our bedrock conservation laws like the Endangered Species Act and Clean Air Act, and we’ll work to restore the protections that the Bush Administration has killed during its two terms in office.

• Work to protect our most fragile public lands like the Artic National Wildlife Refuge, the Tongass National Forest in Alaska, and the Giant Sequoia National Monument in California.

• Use our powerful grassroots support to fight for real solutions to global warming and its impacts on people, land, water, and wildlife.

• Elect a pro-environmental president, and strong environmental majorities at the federal, state, and local levels.

With your help, we can leave our children and grandchildren the safe and healthy wild planet they deserve. Please donate today.
