Each spring, the Sierra Club provides volunteer judges for the kayak and canoe slalom races through the rapids of Millstream Gardens Conservation Area on the St. Francis River near Fredericktown. Come one day or both to see skilled boaters perform in a spectacular setting.

This year, the races will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17. In case of poor water conditions, the backup dates are March 23 and 24. No experience is needed; volunteers will be trained and paired with experienced judges. Free car camping is provided in the nearby group camp at Silver Mines State Park on Friday and Saturday night.
