Herpetology Society presentation featured at May EMG Meeting

At our May 22 meeting at the Missouri Botanical Garden, a representative of the St. Louis Herpetology society will present LIVE a wide variety of reptiles and amphibians, including herps indigenous to Missouri (depending on availability). The St. Louis Herpetological Society was founded in 1974 by a small group of people whose intent was to provide a forum for like-minded people to meet and learn about the animals they cared for. They currently have over 200 members in their society whose interests and expertise cover a wide variety of reptiles and amphibians. Not only are the presenters knowledgeable, but they provide "hands-on" with some fascinating species creating a stir not only for children, but adults as well. Individuals may encounter a Jackson Chameleon, Bearded Dragon, Blue Tongue Skink, Red-Tailed Boa or even a Burmese Python. The presentations may include reptiles and amphibians indigenous to Missouri such as the oddities of the Glass Lizard, Speckled Kingsnake, Black Rat snake, Bull snake, Alligator Snapping turtle and a variety of frogs, toads, and salamanders.

The general meeting will be held at 7:30 on Thursday May 22 in the Beaumont Room of the Missouri Botanical Garden. We will meet as usual before the meeting at the St. Louis Bread Co. on Grand anytime after 5:30 for dinner.
