On Sunday June 26, The Grow Wild Garden Tour offers an opportunity to explore and enjoy some very special "wild places of the earth" in the heart of St Louis County.

The tour provides examples of prairie, woodland, wetland, pond, and rock gardens. Some of the featured gardens are relatively young; some are well-established. Some are small "islands" of diversity; some are larger stretches of land. Locations include Ballwin, Florissant, Ladue, Lakeshire, South County, Sunset Hills, Town and Country, and University City. Volunteer experts will be at each site to answer questions.

Sponsored by The Green Center, Shaw Nature Reserve, and the St Louis Chapter of Wild Ones, this self-guided garden tour features nine outstanding examples of natural landscaping.

These gardens are peaceful places. There is harmony here. Each gardener has learned to work with the natural character of the land. Such is the meaning of the term "natural landscaping," or "naturescaping."

Garden sites will be open from 9AM-3PM on Sunday, June 26, rain or shine. Ticket price for this self-guided tour is $10.00 per person in advance and $15.00 on the day of the tour. A ticket includes maps and details about each site. For further details and ticketing information, call The Green Center at 314-725-8314 or visit The Green Center web site at www.thegreencenter.org.
