The Third Annual Grow Wild Garden Tour will take place Sunday, June 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tour is sponsored by: Shaw Nature Reserve, a division of Missouri Botanical Garden; Wild Ones, an organization that promotes the use of native plants in landscaping; and Green Center, a naturalist science lab in University City.

The tour will encompass seven residential gardens and the Green Center. Sites include gardens in Kirkwood, Lakeshire, Olivette and Webster Groves. Landscapes you'll be able to see will include prairie, woodland, pond, and wetland. You'll also have the opportunity to view the former garden of Edgar Dennison, author of "Missouri Wildflowers."

The tour is a great experience for those interested in low-maintenance gardening, birds, butterflies, native plants, landscaping, rain gardening, conservation and ecology, and community beautification.

History has proven that the gardeners and fellow tour takers are happy to share information about gardening with native plants.

Tickets for the tour are $10 in advance, $15 the day of the tour. For tickets or to get more information, call the Green Center at 314-725-8314 or visit www.shawnature.org.
