Director, Harvest Celebration 2008 Silent Auction

I'm writing to request donations for the Sierra Club Harvest Celebration 2008 – EMG's first-ever fund-raising dinner and auction.

As you know, lemonade sales have been EMG's biggest fundraiser year after year. But sales are down, way down, because we've "lost" two major public fairs: Fair Saint Louis priced us out of that event, and the St. Louis County Fair and Air Show closed its doors.

Our response to the fundraising challenge is the Sierra Club Harvest Celebration 2008: a fundraising event with buffet dinner, Riverfront venue, Dixieland band, happy hour, tours of St. Louis' "greenest" building, and a silent auction, which brings me back to the reason for my letter: Please consider making a donation to the silent auction.

I know we've all received gifts that we don't care for. But someone else might just love those items. We're inviting you to "re-gift" to the auction.

Some of us have inherited "treasures" that we don't personally treasure. And some of us have genuine treasures that we don't have time or room for any more. We're asking you to share the joy and pass your underappreciated treasures on to other Sierrans.

Maybe you're downsizing or just getting rid of excess "stuff." We'll make sure your high-quality stuff finds a good home.

And if you own a business or have a talent that others yearn for (musician, photography), consider making a donation to the Harvest Celebration.

If you have a donation for the Harvest Celebration silent auction, please email or call me: 314-862-6793 or normadeen@hotmail.com. I hope to see you at the Harvest Celebration!
