National Trails Day June 6

National Trails Day is Saturday June 6. We will again celebrate Trails Day at Hawn State Park. This year we would like to put a table at each of the two trail heads. We will have chilled water and snacks to hand out, also brochures and trail maps.

We will need volunteers to man these tables and to lead hikes on the trails.

Come down for a couple of hours or for the whole day. It's fun and you meet a lot of new and interesting people.

Date Set For 2009 Annual Missouri Chapter Campout

Mark your calendar for the weekend of October 16-18 so you won't miss out on the 22nd Annual Missouri Chapter Campout. Join other Sierra Club members for "cabin camping" at Camp Sherwood in Cuivre River State Park. Just 50 miles north of Saint Louis, this 6,000 acre park has two wild areas and three natural areas featuring native prairie, sinkhole ponds, woodlands and a clear, rock-bottomed stream.

This will be a family-friendly event with planned activities for all ages. Details will be published in the AUG-SEP issue of SierraScape.
