National Oil and Gas Air Regulations

National - EPA
Summary
In an exciting first step to update badly out of date air pollution rules governing the oil and gas industry, EPA released Oil and Natural Gas Air Pollution Standards on July 28, 2011, which can dramatically reduce air pollution in local communities. Industry is already lining up to attack EPA's proposal, even though it would result in minimal costs or even benefits to producers, so we need to support EPA's efforts to issue a strong rule by attending the public hearings and submitting comments.
Updates

On July 28, 2011, EPA issued new rules on air pollution from oil and gas drilling.  Public comments will be accepted for 60 days after the rules appear in the Federal Register.

On July 13, 2010, EPA sought comments, and announced public meetings, on the general scope of its new rules.

On July 1, 2010, a coalition of environmental groups wrote to EPA, urging it to design comprehensive and effective new air pollution rules for the oil and gas industry.
