Missouri Valley Sierra Student Coalition (MoValley SSC)

1. MoValley SSC is an umbrella organization representing college conservation groups of Eastern Nebraska.

2. Eastern Nebraska is defined as the counties of Douglas, Sarpy, Dodge, Washington, Saunders and Cass.

2. One role of MoValley SSC is to assist in strengthening and expanding existing college organizations.

3. Another role of MoValley SSC is to organize conservation groups at college where there are none.

4. MoValley SSC will conduct regular meetings at a central location for representatives of the allied college environmental organizations and their com

5. Committees of MoValley SSC will pursue activities either not allowed at some of the colleges or better conducted at the multicounty level of an umbrella organization, e.g. local activities that are part of national/international campaigns.
Recommended committees include:

– Conservation Education/Training (e.g. alternative forms of energy, sustainability )

– Conservation Action (e.g. protests against Keystone XL-Pipeline, Anti Coal Campaign)

– Environmental Justice/Political Action (e.g. survey and endorse local political candidates)

– Communications/Marketing (e.g website, e-newsletter, social networking w Facebook)

– Executive (ExCom) – officers and committee chairs and reps of college groups.
