ATTEND A PROGRAM

The Cypress Group holds monthly programs on the 2nd Monday of the Month, September through May.  Our programs feature guest speakers, with presentations on varied topics relevant to our locale and environment.  Topics vary from the enjoyment of the natural beauty in our area, to the concerns we have for the environment in our area.

Our programs are temporarily held virtually.  Soon they will return to in person.  The in-person programs are held in Greenville, NC, and are open to the public.  The location is 131 Oakmont Drive, just south of the intersection of Charles Blvd and Red Banks Rd.   Programs begin at 7:00 pm, usually lasting an hour and a half.  Our programs are very interesting and informative and we invite you to join us!

JOIN AN OUTING

The Cypress Group has a wealth and breadth of outdoor activities in our area.  Between kayaking and canoeing, hiking and camping, birding and ???, opportunities abound.  One of the Cypress Group Outings Leader received the National Sierra Club Award for Outings Leader of the Year!  Within our 19 counties we have seven National Wildlife Refuges; five major rivers; two major sounds; countless wetlands, islands, beaches, forests, and state parks; a national seashore and home to the Outer Banks.

VOLUNTEER

The Sierra Club is the oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization in America.  In addition to Programs and Outings, the Sierra Club lobbies for environmental legislation, protects state and federal wildlands, and promotes eco-conscious tourism.  There are many aspects to the work the Sierra Club does, and the vast majority is done by volunteers.

The Cypress Group is always seeking volunteers.  We'd like to hear from you about your ideas and interests.  We have a Participant Sheet where you can see ways to volunteer, and where you can express your own interests.  Please take a few moments to complete the sheet and let us hear from you.  Your support and participation is vital to the fulfillment of the Sierra Club's mission:  To Enjoy, Explore, and Protect the Planet.
