CURRENT FELLOWS

Emma Hartlaub

Hi! My name is Emma Hartlaub and I am a second-year student at Cleveland State University. I am majoring in Communications and minoring in Non-Profit Administration and Anthropology. I love traveling, reading, and hiking. I have always been very passionate about environmental stewardship and community service, and serving with the Sierra Club has allowed me to pursue both of these passions. Originally from Frederick, MD, working with the Ohio Sierra Club has allowed me to learn about and get more involved with the environmental issues of this area. In addition to my Fellowship position, I have worked at three different national parks. I hope to pursue a career with the public parks systems, non-profit management, or anything that allows me to serve both the planet and local communities.

Elizabeth Scott

Hello! My name is Elizabeth Scott, I'm currently a junior at Otterbein University in Westerville, OH. I'm majoring in Environmental Science, with minors in Earth Science and Sustainability Studies, and a passion for geology. After I graduate, I plan on working with the park service or other environmental organizations doing environmental education. I spend most of my free time outside, camping, hiking, backpacking, or doing field work. As a child I spent a lot of time around Lake Erie and grew to really care about water and water quality. I'm excited to be a Clean Water Fellow to raise awareness and make an impact on the quality and availability of water locally, and around the state. I see water as a basic human right and a necessity for both human and non-human life, so I am looking forward to educating others about water issues and to make a change in our state.

Kelsey Ridenour

Hello! My name is Kelsey Ridenour and I am a sophomore at the Ohio State University. I am studying Natrual Resource Management. My love for the outdoors came from years spent at camp with my girl scout troop and the wonders of nature have never left my side. After high school, I started voluteering the Electric Forest music festival where my husband and I worked for a group that focused on recycling and leaving as small of a footprint as we could so we could keep the beauty of nature in tact. I also have worked for Aveda hair salons for the last 5 years, where I learned that my personal passion for nature was more than just a hobby. Aveda products are all water soluble and environmentally friendly and my salons have participated in multiple fundraisers to help save the planet. Once I learned that the earth was more to me than just a place to live, I knew I wanted to spend my present and future protecting it any way I can. This opportunity as a Clean Water Fellow at the Sierra Club is a perfect chance for me to give back and do my part, as well as recruit and educate others as to how they can and why they should do theirs.
