Local Outings

"Surely all God's people,
however serious or savage, great or small, like to play.
Whales and elephants, dancing, humming gnats, and invisibly
small mischievous microbes - all are warm with divine radium
and must have lots of fun in them." - John Muir

Local Outings Online
Local chapter and group outings are generally open to members and non-members
alike. A few outings may require
membership,
but most do not. No fees are charged either, except for incidental
expenses like park-entry costs.
Our outings
leaders are Sierra Club volunteers, and the range of outings
is as diverse as their interests. Depending on where
you are, you can choose from day hikes, peak scrambles,
bicycling, cross-country skiing, bird-watching, conservation-oriented
walks, or forays
into the remaining natural areas of our major cities.
In short, Sierra Club outings are a great way to find
out about local conservation issues while enjoying the
great outdoors!
