Local Outings Online Local chapter and group outings are open to members and non-members alike. A few outings may require membership, but most do not. No fees are charged either, except for incidental expenses like park entry costs. Outings leaders are Sierra Club volunteers, and the range of outings is as diverse as our volunteers' interests. Depending on where you are, choose from day hikes, peak scrambles, bicycling, cross-country skiing, bird-watching, conservation-oriented walks, or forays into the remaining natural areas of our major cities. If you are interested in learning about local outings, use the drop-down menu above to find a chapter near you. Outings are often publicized both in newsletters and on chapter websites. Sierra Club members automatically receive local newsletters, which include outing announcements. In short, Sierra Club outings are a great way to find out about local conservation issues while enjoying the great outdoors!
