7:30 a.m. - Guests prepare their own sack lunch

8:00 a.m. - Family-style breakfast is served

6:00 p.m. - Family-style dinner is served

A vegetarian option is available for every meal. Guests with other dietary restrictions can often be accommodated, provided that the lodge staff is informed in advance. However, those with special diets or allergies should be prepared to supplement the lodge's offerings with food of their own. There are guest refrigerators that can be used to store your own items and a microwave for your use.

Clair Tappaan Lodge was built by volunteers of the Sierra Club in 1934 and the spirit of volunteerism has been alive and well ever since. In order to maintain and build community, as well as keep expenses down, every guest is asked to perform a chore each day they are at the Lodge. Most chores happen either before or after breakfast and dinner and usually last 20 minutes or less. We encourage children of all ages to get involved with the chore system although supervision is required. Please come to the Lodge ready to embrace this nearly 80-year-old tradition.
