National Outings
Donating to the service trips program
What are service trips? Though all Sierra Club national
outings emphasize conservation, service trips concentrate on
specific
conservation projects—from
removing non-native plants in vulnerable wilderness areas
to helping U.S. Forest Service staff maintain trails
and marine biologists observe sealife. Service
trips allow volunteers to contribute their time and labor to improving
the environment; in return, participants gain a deeper understanding
of the land, and a sense of ownership.
Because service trips contribute directly to the
Sierra Club's conservation goals and give back to our public lands,
they operate at reduced cost. Donations help us keep trip
prices
low, allowing more Sierra Club members
to participate.
How do I donate? Please make checks payable to the Sierra
Club Foundation; write "service trips" on the memo line.
Send donations to: Sierra Club Outings, 85 Second St., 2nd
Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105.
Are donations to service trips tax deductible? Yes.
All donations are tax deductible, under section 501(c)(3)
of the Internal Revenue Code.
If you are interested in making other tax deductible donations,
please see our
Donations
and Contributions page.
Thank you for considering a donation to the service trips
program!
