Welcome to the Never stop training!
Whether you are a new or veteran outing leader, leadership development and training are an ongoing process. There is always more to learn about leadership, group dynamics, safety and first-aid, natural and cultural history, and conservation issues. The Outdoor Activities Training Program (OATP) is the nationally-managed program charged with developing and running outings leader training for the Sierra Club. We work with volunteer training developers and trainers to design and offer dynamic training events across the country. OATP events are not the only trainings in your area; contact your local outings chair to learn more. Click here to learn more about the three Outdoor Activities programs of the Sierra Club and how to get involved. They are Group & Chapter Outings (locally run outings), Inner City Outings (ICO), and National Outings (the outings listed in Sierra magazine). |
