Take Action! Keep Developers Away from Acadia
Help defeat a proposal to build a large resort immediately adjacent to the Schoodic part of Acadia National Park.

Acadia National Park, with almost 50,000 acres of protected area, is a jewel of our national parks system. With Cadillac Mountain, the tallest mountain on the Eastern Coast, Peregrine falcon, Osprey, Brook Trout, Ferns, Wood Lily and some of the rarest flora, Acadia is a haven for many species and an area that must be protected as part of our natural heritage for future generations.

But development threatens Acadia, it has been proposed to build a large resort immediately adjacent to the Schoodic part of Acadia National Park. This development threatens the unique character and traditions of the communities of eastern Hancock County, the area's ecological and scenic integrity, and the experience of visitors to Acadia's spectacular Schoodic Point. We must take action now before it is too late.

Over the years, the Sierra Club has played a major role in protecting Acadia and making sure that we preserve it for future generations. We are currently monitoring the Schoodic development proposal and doing as much as we can to prevent any damage to Acadia's delicate ecosystem.
